Harlo Ltd.

The engineers of Harlo Ltd. Have been dealing with the research and development of friction welding technology since 1972, application possibilities.

During this time, our machines have welded tens of millions of pieces, from car engine valves to railway car brake systems to pump shafts in a wide variety of shapes and materials.

Friction welding

Friction welding is a special type of press welding,
wherein the two surfaces to be welded are rotated relative to each other and compressed by a suitable pressure.
On the contact surfaces, the metal heats up due to friction,
become plastic,
then heat and pressure form a cohesive, atomic-level bond.
By friction welding, parts with complex geometries can be assembled from simple elements.
Materials of different chemical composition and mechanical properties may be used within a component,
which cannot be combined with other procedures.
The use of expensive materials can be limited to the application technically justified place.
The technology is mainly used in series production, such as in the automotive industry, in the production of hydraulic components,
it offers advantages in tractor and agricultural machinery, general machinery and many other areas.

Series Welding

We have been undertaking on our own designed and manufactured machines since 1992,
friction welding of series, creating the necessary conditions to start production.
Due to the nature of our operation, we are able to pay special attention to all our customers,
see throught and solve complex tasks.
Take advantage of our capacity,
make its production more efficient in accordance with the quality requirements of EN ISO 15085-2,
without risk and investment!

Combining metals

Materials with different chemical compositions and mechanical properties can be used within a part, which ensures that a given part is perfectly suited to its task,
and allows you to limit the use of expensive materials
to the application technically justified place. (example: heat-resistant valve head, wear-resistant valve stem)

Quality bonds

Even, cohesive, atomic-level bonding quality guaranteed by an automatic quality control system.

Eccentricity

Our machines are capable of welding with a uniaxial tolerance of up to a few hundredths of a millimeter, which is an inaccessible goal in other welding processes.

Positioning

The positioning system we have developed ensures that the rotating piece is stopped at a given angular position, within ± 0.5 degrees of the stationary piece.
